Jacket Essentials

My Jacket Essentials

As December comes to an end, the weather will be getting even colder. Most people love to wear different kinds of coats to embrace the cold weather. I love the winter for this purpose. Jackets can be classic, chic, trendy, and different. You can buy a nice peacoat or wear your North Face in twelve degree weather. Whatever can keep you warm!

There are always staple jackets in your closet when winter comes. I have an obsession with jackets and coats. I always love to layer up with my favorite sweater, hat, and scarf with a jacket. Over the past year, I have become much more appreciative of my long winter coats. Sometimes it does not matter what you look like, it's about staying warm.

Winter 2016-2017 is going to be a cold one - make sure you're ready to layer up with your favorite kind of jacket. Here are some of my favorite jackets and coats for this winter season.

Bomber jacket

The bomber jacket has made its way back in style. This is the perfect jacket to slip on over a long sleeve shirt or sweater. The bomber I am wearing is from American Eagle but you can find one anywhere and everywhere!

Leather jacket

You cannot go wrong with a leather jacket. Leather jackets are a staple to a wardrobe and they never fail to do their job; keep you warm and look fabulous. I am wearing a BLANKNYC jacket.

Peacoat

Oh, the peacoat. A peacoat can be worn on any occasion. You can wear it with a casual outfit or for an evening event. I personally always wear my peacoat on Christmas and going into New York City. It gives a classic look to your outfit. The one I am wearing is from Artizia.

Fur coat

Fur jackets are a lot of fun. They give something extra to your outfit and they never go out of style. The one I am wearing is from Free People.

Easy "throw-on" coat

A throw on coat can be anything you want it to be! It can be your Patagonia jacket, North Face jacket, a cargo jacket or a cardigan style jacket. This jacket I picked up in Forever 21 last holiday season. It can be dressed up or down and it is extremely warm. You never know what your throw on jacket may be!

Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and buy a new jacket. There is something for everyone and I guarantee it will match your outfit :).

Happy Holidays!

This Holiday Season

This Holiday Season

For the most joyful and loving time of the year,
Happy Holidays. The holidays bring such cheer and happiness into everyone's life. If you feel as though you do not have much time to shop, enjoy each moment and breathe. Once Christmas day ends, the commotion will stop and it is the perfect day to reflect. Reflect on the times that have the most significance to you, for how grateful you no matter the circumstance, on the year and how to make the next better, and most importantly yourself. How you can self improve for the years to come?

As the years past and times go on, we forget the one purpose of the holiday season; love. Love can be however you want it to be. For me, it is spending time with my family. Family time is the best time. You share laughs, cries, the happiest moments, and many memories together. Most families have traditions each season. Some love to travel, stay at home and host a huge dinner, or meet at their favorite place. For mine, we travel into the great New York City. We like to see the tree, walk around Rockefeller Center, light a candle in St. Patrick's Cathedral for Pop Pop or Aunt Patsy and visit the Macy's Christmas windows. Even though it is the same thing every year, it never gets old. There is something special about the way we all get together after not seeing each other since the summer. There is a happiness and relief to see everyone in one of our favorite places.

People tend to forget how important their family is during this time because it is so busy. However, family can be whatever you want it to be. It could be spending time with your best friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, dog, or yourself. The love and comfort you have for those people are what make them family to you. On Christmas day, when all of the hustle and bustle gets pushed aside, pop that champagne bottle or pour your glass of wine - it is time to celebrate one of the most joyful times of the year with the people you love the most.
